Zambia Census Results Announced: Luangwa and Kafue Stable, Lower Zambezi Declines and Sioma Ngwezi Declines Catastrophically

The Zambia Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNPW) released today the Great Elephant Census results. Two elephant landscapes are stable, one is declining, and one is declining catastrophically due to poaching.

Better Data for a Crisis: Second Tanzania Count Part of Ongoing Population Monitoring

In response to the ongoing crisis in Tanzania, the government of Tanzania is co-sponsoring a new survey of the Ruaha-Rungwa ecosystem in collaboration with Tanzania National Parks, Wildlife Division, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority, Frankfurt Zoological Society and the Wildlife Conservation Society.
